Watson in the back of my car Personal Photo |
Hello my name is Hannah Pagels, like bagels with a "P." I have a dog named Watson, he is a year old and is a little over 115 pounds. He is a Bernese Mountain Dog. He likes long walks, ice "treats", ice water, and will only eat hid food if it is cascade down some stairs. I am a senior here at OUr fine University. I am a Psychology major. The coolest thing about my major is getting know why people do the tings they do and having capability (after getting masters) to help people, misunderstood or not, to help give them tools to make themselves happy. My plan is to graduate, maybe go work in a behavioral center as a P.C.A. for a year then start on my masters to become a therapists.
My favorite class last semester was Creative Art Therapy. What I loved about this class is that anyone could take it, so there were all sorts of majors and it was relaxing.I would recommend this class to anyone who needs and upper division elective class. My biggest accomplishment last semester was getting through the semester.
This past break I went to my families in Scottsdale, Arizona. It was a lot of fun, because my cousins still believe in Santa. I enjoyed watch the magic of Christmas come alive for them. I have been watching "Room 104" on HBO, it is very weird, I would compare it to "Black Mirror," but based in a hotel room. I really enjoy cooking, especially pasta. My grandma is Italian so she has taught me a lot about cooking. Now she is super old and I am able to cook for her. I also like to SCUBA dive, living in a landlocked state makes things a little difficult, I am about to start Rescue Diver certification. I live on a like in Oklahoma called Grand Lake of the Cherokees, so I like most water sports. I especially like wake surfing.
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteWatson is such a cutie! I don't know what it is about ice cubes, but my dog goes crazy for them too. I think that psychology is so interesting! I also want to be a therapist, but I'm going the social work/ LCSW route instead of the counseling/ LPC route. I don't cook much, but I love to eat, especially pasta! I'm sure your grandmother taught you some amazing recipes.
Hi Hannah.
ReplyDeleteI am very much a dog lover too. I also admire that you are studying psychology. My boyfriend studied social work and went through a lot of psychology courses and it is so cool to study how the mind works. I look forward to reading some of your work as we work through the semester readings. Good luck with the semester and have fun in your classes.
Sincerely,
Shaun
Oh, look at Watson: what a beauty! And a big boy too! Maybe you can add his picture to the class pets board; here's that "Pet Padlet" -- Padlet Tech Tips, which is a fun way to do an extra credit Tech Tip thing. :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd how great that you did a Creative Art Therapy class: wonderful! I have a friend who is a psychiatric nurse, and she worked in a state prison near where I live -- and she did art therapy with the prisoners. It was really powerful, and they did some great projects: art and music both. I know I get such a good feeling from writing my own stories, and I always hope the same thing for people in these classes. I am really glad to know they have an Art Therapy class like that at OU! And maybe you can use this class as a chance to learn something about the beautiful storytelling traditions of Italy. Do you know what part of Italy your grandmother is from? We might even be able to find some Italian folktales or fairy tales from that part of Italy!
The grey-on-black font is kind of hard to read here on the web, but if you use the magic Tx button in the browser you can reset the formatting; just open the post to edit, highlight all the text, and press the Tx button; it will put all the font formatting to the default settings for your blog (which is light-on-dark probably). The Tx button is super-useful that way!
Hello, Hannah!
ReplyDeleteI must say that you should be proud to be the mother of such a dapper fellow. It sounds like you really found the right major for you. I wish you the best on your noble endeavor to improve the lives of our fellow citizens and empower them. I have heard good things about Creative Art Therapy, and I am glad to see that you enjoyed it was well.
Hello, Hannah!
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, your Watson is such a cutie pie! I have heard such good things about Bernese Mountain Dogs, mainly that they are absolute sweethearts! Psychology is such a fascinating field of study; I was actually considering it at one point as my AP psychology teacher really instilled a love for the subject in me back in the good old days of high school. I am also a senior and am thrilled to be done with it all (for now), as I am sure you are, too!
Good luck with the rest of your senior year and beyond!
Hi Hannah! Watson is adorable! I'm a dog lover too, and Bernese Mountain Dogs are so cute! I considered a Psychology for the reason that is so interesting to know what makes people tick! I love that you cook for your grandma, after she's been able to teach you to cook! I can't wait to get to know you better over this semester! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteHannah,
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to meet you! I'm a fellow psychology major (I'm taking capstone this semester)! The setup you have for your blog is pretty nifty. It would seem that you have a knack for this. What is your blog's wallpaper in reference to?
I look forward to reading your posts this semester! Best of luck and I hope you enjoy the course!
-Lance J.
Hey Hannah,
ReplyDeleteIt was so much fun to read through your introduction. Your dog is so adorable. I am sure that he is a great puppy. I think you have an interesting major and your career goals are very admirable. Also, super cool that you are from the Grand Lake area. I am from Miami, so I frequently visit Grand Lake.

Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteWatson is so freaking cute. I am also SCUBA certified! It's very cool that you're going for your rescue certification. I'm not a super great diver because I get really tired and sometimes a little claustrophobic. I do love the feeling of being underwater and being able to see so many cool things when you're diving.
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you, your dog is truly the cutest. I can't believe he's over a hundred pounds. That's amazing.
I am a social work major and I can definitely relate to the feeling of liking understanding people. I find it so interesting to talk to people and get a little view into their world!
Good luck this semester.
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteYour dog is so cute! I have a dog, too and he is a lot smaller (12 lbs.)! I think a Psychology major is so cool and definitely what I would have done had I not been in my current major. I've never been scuba diving but would love to have the opportunity to go. It seems to fun and I can't imagine all fo the cool things you have seen. Congrats on your final semester of undergrad!
Hey there Hannah,
ReplyDeleteWatson is such a cute dog. I think it might be every dog that loves ice cubes just as much as Watson does. It is very intriguing that you are studying psychology. I really look forward to keeping up with your blogs and good luck this semester a and have fun with your classes!
Hey Hannah,
ReplyDeleteYou have a really cute doggo. He looks really happy. I've always found psychology to be interesting, too. I think it is really cool to be able to understand what people are thinking, why they are thinking that way, and how to help them. It sounds like you have a pretty solid plan for your career. I hope it all goes well for you.
Good luck,
Brady
Hey Hannah,
ReplyDeleteFirst thing is I absolutely love your do. Seeing this makes me miss mine so much! I am jealous that you're majoring in psychology! I have always loved that field of study and wish that I could have majored in something that interesting. It was cool to get to know a little bit more about you. Have a great rest of the semester.
Hey Hannah,
ReplyDeleteWatson is one of the goodest boys I have ever seen, and I am really missing my dog now! I am a huge dog lover as well, and being away at college away from my Yorkshire Terrier Maggie is always sad. Psychology is also a really cool and interesting major that has so many applications in various fields, so I hope you find your dream job! I always enjoy getting to meet new people, so it's been cool to learn a little about you! Enjoy your semester and good luck!
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, SUPER cute dog, as I am sure you get that a lot. I love that you already have a plan laid out for your major and your future career. Best of luck and I am sure you'll be able to achieve everything you mentioned! A couple of my friends took Art Therapy; I always wanted to try it too but sadly never had the time too. What did you find yourself drawing usually? I'm sure you have a great creative side and I can't wait to read some of your stories! It was good meeting you!
Hi Hannah!
ReplyDeleteThe details about your dog were really fun to read, since every pet has their quirks and that's what makes them so adorable. Watson is a really cute dog as well, so thanks for the picture!
The art therapy class sounds really interesting! I actually had a year in high school where I was convinced I wanted to be an art therapist, but now I'm an advertising major so you can see how that worked out.
That's really cool that you scuba dive, especially in Oklahoma! I wouldn't think that too many other Oklahomans can count scuba diving as one of their hobbies. Good luck this semester!
Hannah, it was really great getting to know you some through your introduction post. I think it is so cool that we are able to interact even though we are in two separate classes (I'm in Indian Epics). I think it is cool that having an online class like this allows us to do that. Again, it was great getting to know you some and the best of luck to you on your future endeavors.
