My favorite place is Dominica. I went there for Spring Break two years ago. The island has nine active volcano, since the black sand. I. actually could not go swimming the on this side of the island because the undertow was so bad. All of the images are personal (a.k.a. off my snapchat).
This is a Pink Fern I saw on a hike.

One of the reasons why I love this is island is the diversity of terrain. And the people, they are the "One Love" type. My family and I went on a 15mile adventure up a mountain, down this clay crevice, through the Vally of Desolation, and finally to our destination, the Boiling Lake, which is one of three in the world.

I got a charcoal face mask from the source!I thought I was going to die on this hike. My brother even had to carry my backpack!! The boiling lake was so worth the trek, I even got fresh water on the hike that was unfiltered! This lake was incredible, and yet frightening. A very humanizing experience.

  1. Wow, Hannah, this is fabulous: thank you for sharing all these pictures. What a great experience! And of course the West Indies are the home to all kinds of fantastic stories too; maybe you will want to do a Caribbean-inspired project for this class! You might take a look through these Caribbean story collections, all free to read books online. There is a section of stories from Dominica in this book:
    Folklore of the Antilles.
